La décision a été prise par le ministre des Mines, de l’industrie et du développement technologique, Fuh Calistus Gentry, contre certaines boissons qui étaient commercialisées par l’entreprise Africa Good complex Sarl située à Douala, la capitale économique.

Parmi les griefs qui ont poussé le ministre à suspendre cette commercialisation, on peut citer l’environnement de travail très insalubre, incommode et impropre, le système d’assurance qualité inexistante, la production illégale de whisky en sachets et contrefaçon. «Les produits déjà mis sur le marché, notamment les whiskies de marque Loma et les vins de marque Casa De Cavini, Baron De Cavini et Château De Merlot, doivent systématiquement être retirés» de la circulation selon le ministre. Dans la même note portant suspension, il est également spécifiée que les services déconcentrés du ministère de l’industrie et les autres administrations en charge des contrôles et de la répression des fraudes ainsi que les organismes exerçant dans la surveillance du marché sont chargés de l’application de ladite décision. Une croisade que les populations souhaitent pérenne contre la contrebande et la contrefaçon de tout type de boisson au Cameroun.
