L’ambassade d’Italie située au quartier Golf à Yaoundé a abrité, comme d’habitude, la conférence de presse en prélude à l’un des événements culturels exotiques les plus courus dans la capitale camerounaise chaque année : la semaine de la cuisine italienne. Pour cette édition 2023, le pays de Filippo Scammacca Del Murgo, l’ambassadeur d’Italie en poste à Yaoundé, a certes conservé les mêmes saveurs, toujours aussi pétillantes que les pizzas, les vins italiens et les pâtes alimentaires, mais a surtout mis l’accent sur une collaboration gastronomique avec le Cameroun. «Une perspective d’enrichissement au profit des deux identités culinaires qui se marient parfaitement à table», se félicite Filippo Scammacca Del Murgo. Le diplomate voudrait voir par exemple en ce mariage des saveurs, une astuce pour accompagner un bon plat camerounais d’un bon vin italien.
En d’autres termes, il s’agit de faire des liaisons en mariant les cuisines italienne et camerounaise ; faire savoir aux Camerounais résidant partout dans le monde qu’il est possible de consommer italien dans leur pays dorénavant et d’inciter le public à la consommation du «made in Italia». Aussi comprend-on que l’édition 2023 de la cuisine italienne au Cameroun se déclinera autour des initiatives de dégustation des produits italiens et les ventes promotionnelles dans les différentes chaînes de distribution présentes à Yaoundé et Douala, notamment Carrefour, Dovv, Casino, Santa Lucia ou encore Super U. Tout ceci sera sans doute sous le regard très attentif du Ministère du Tourisme et des loisirs du Cameroun (Mintoul), partenaire de choix de la semaine de la cuisine italienne.
«Nous nous réjouissons de cette invitation du Ministère du Tourisme et des Loisirs à participer à la célébration de la semaine de la cuisine italienne», s’est réjoui le Secrétaire général du Mintoul, Ndioro à Mamoum. Il a également profité de l’occasion face à la presse pour apporter des précisions sur les enjeux de la collaboration culturelle et gastronomique avec l’Italie, au moment où le Mintoul affine les préparatifs du Festival des saveurs du Cameroun. Pour cet événement qui aura lieu du 20 au 26 novembre prochain au musée national de Yaoundé (ancien palais présidentiel), le Cameroun a fait de l’Italie son invité d’honneur, et un pavillon y relatif lui sera dédié, confie Ndioro à Mamoum. Pour une raison simple. C’est que l’art culinaire italien est bien connu dans le monde, et le Cameroun entend profiter de ce savoir-faire dans un échange d’expérience pour vendre également la cuisine camerounaise à l’international. Les deux délégations se sont séparées autour des mets italiens bien concoctés.
